Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Effective Date: 3/18/2026
Last Updated: 4/17/2026
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and similar privacy laws in other states, California residents and residents of certain other states have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of their personal information.
What “Sale” and “Sharing” Mean
Under California law:
- “Sale” means disclosing personal information to a third party in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- “Sharing” means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary consideration.
Norton Media Enterprise does not sell your personal information for money. However, we use third-party advertising technologies, analytics tools, and affiliate tracking that may involve sharing identifiers (such as cookie IDs, device identifiers, or IP addresses) and browsing activity with third parties. Under California law, some of this activity may be considered “selling” or “sharing” your personal information.
Categories of Information That May Be Sold or Shared
The following categories of personal information may be sold or shared for purposes such as targeted advertising and analytics:
- Identifiers (cookie IDs, device IDs, IP addresses)
- Internet or other electronic network activity (browsing history, interaction with ads, pages visited)
- Geolocation data (approximate, based on IP address)
- Inferences drawn from the above to create profiles about consumer preferences
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
How to Opt Out
You have several options to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information:
Option 1: Submit an Opt-Out Request

Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written proof of authorization and we may require you to verify your identity directly.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. You will receive the same quality of service and content regardless of whether you opt out.
Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. We will match information you provide against information we have on file. If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to fulfill your request.
Response Time
We will respond to verified opt-out requests within 15 business days as required by California law.
