🏙️ Downtown & Lundy’s Lane — Canada
🇺🇸 Niagara Falls, NY (USA)
🍷 Niagara-on-the-Lake Wine Country
Niagara Falls hotel options span two countries — towering Fallsview resorts overlooking Horseshoe Falls from the Canadian side, budget-friendly motels along Lundy’s Lane and Clifton Hill, downtown hotels connected to Seneca Niagara Casino on the American side, and Victorian-era inns in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s wine country. We checked each property directly against its own official site and confirmed several closures and rebrands along the way, including a hotel currently under restoration that isn’t bookable yet.

Planning Tips for This Area
- Decide which side of the border to base yourself on before you book. The Canadian side’s Fallsview strip has the classic view and the casino resorts; the American side puts you inside walking distance of Niagara Falls State Park; Niagara-on-the-Lake is a quieter wine-country alternative about 20 minutes from the falls.
- A passport or enhanced ID is required to cross the Rainbow Bridge between the US and Canadian sides — factor border wait times into your plans if you’re staying on one side and visiting the other.
- Hotel Niagara is under restoration and not currently bookable, targeted for a 2027 reopening. It doesn’t appear in this guide for that reason.
- Book Fallsview-facing rooms well in advance, especially during summer and around Canada Day/July 4th weekends — the falls-view premium rooms at Sheraton Fallsview, Hilton Fallsview, and Marriott Fallsview sell out first.
Is Hotel Niagara open?
No — it’s undergoing a $58.8 million restoration and is not currently bookable, with a targeted reopening around 2027. It doesn’t appear in this guide for that reason.
Which side of Niagara Falls has better hotels?
The Canadian (Ontario) side has the larger concentration of high-rise Fallsview hotels with direct views of Horseshoe Falls, plus the Fallsview and Casino Niagara casino resorts. The American (New York) side has fewer falls-view towers but puts you closer to Niagara Falls State Park on foot.
How does NME choose which hotels to feature?
We verify each listing directly against its own official site and current operating status rather than relying on aggregator lists, and we exclude anything we can’t confirm is bookable. Read more on our methodology page.
