These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of NME Money Audit and related services provided by Norton Media Enterprise, LLC. By affirmatively accepting these Terms, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
1 Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering a contract, and located in the United States to use the Service. If you use the Service for another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on that party's behalf.
2 The Service
Money Audit is an educational household-money organization and audit tool. It provides guided questions, calculations, estimates, checklists, reports, planning tools, and downloadable materials. Features may differ by plan, device, platform, or release. We may improve, replace, or discontinue features, provided we do not unlawfully deprive a paid subscriber of access already purchased.
3 Plans and access
The current checkout screen identifies the included features, price, billing period, and applicable taxes before purchase. Plan names do not promise that every feature will remain unchanged indefinitely.
4 Accounts and sign in
- Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- Protect your device and sign-in method and do not share access with an unauthorized person.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account use.
- Do not create accounts through deception, impersonation, automated means, or for an unlawful purpose.
Sign-in services may be operated by Google, Apple, X, or another supported provider. Your relationship with that provider is also governed by its terms. We may rely on the authenticated email address and provider identifier when assigning or restoring account access.
5 License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms, NME grants you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful household and personal purposes. You may not:
- Copy, sell, sublicense, rent, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or protected downloads except as expressly permitted.
- Circumvent access controls, subscription checks, security measures, or plan restrictions.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, probe, overload, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the Service or another account.
- Upload malware, interfere with operation, or use automated systems in a manner that burdens the Service.
- Use the Service for fraud, unlawful activity, abusive conduct, or infringement of another person's rights.
- Misrepresent NME content as professional financial, investment, legal, tax, insurance, credit, or other licensed advice.
6 Your information local storage and backups
Household financial entries are generally stored locally on the device. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for maintaining any backup you need. Clearing storage, uninstalling the app, losing a device, using privacy controls, or changing browsers may permanently remove local information. NME is not responsible for restoring local information that was never transmitted to or stored by NME.
7 Paid subscriptions
Annual automatic renewal
Mini, Plus, and Bundle are annual auto-renewing subscriptions unless the checkout expressly states otherwise. Before purchase, you will be shown the plan, price, billing period, included access, renewal terms, and cancellation method. By purchasing, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the displayed amount and applicable taxes at purchase and at each annual renewal until canceled.
Payment channels
Website purchases may be processed through Stripe or PayPal. Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are processed through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing. The payment provider's terms, billing controls, and refund process also apply. We do not directly store complete card or bank-account numbers.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time through the platform or account-management method used for the purchase. Cancellation stops the next renewal but ordinarily does not end access already paid for; access continues through the current paid-through date unless a refund, chargeback, fraud determination, or platform rule requires earlier termination. Deleting the app or your Money Audit account does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription.
Upgrades and downgrades
Upgrade timing, credit, proration, and effective dates are shown before confirmation and may depend on the payment channel. A downgrade ordinarily takes effect at the next renewal. You must not be charged simultaneously for overlapping Money Audit plans through the same managed subscription group, and verified purchases may be reconciled to prevent duplicate access.
Restore purchases
Where supported, Restore Purchases asks the applicable store or verified transaction system to re-confirm an existing purchase. It does not create a purchase or grant access without provider verification.
Seven day website refund guarantee
For an initial annual subscription purchased directly from the Money Audit website, you may request a refund within seven calendar days after the initial charge by emailing support. This voluntary guarantee does not apply to renewal charges, repeated purchases after a prior refund, upgrades, abuse, or purchases made through Apple or Google. Apple and Google purchases are subject to the applicable store's refund process. Refunds otherwise are provided only when required by law or approved by the applicable payment provider or NME. A refund may end paid access immediately. Nothing in these Terms limits a nonwaivable right provided by law.
Price changes payment failures and taxes
We may change future subscription prices with notice required by law or the applicable platform. A price change does not retroactively alter a completed billing period. You are responsible for applicable taxes. Failed, reversed, disputed, refunded, or fraudulent payments may result in suspension or loss of paid access.
8 Complimentary and test access
NME may grant complimentary, promotional, or administrative test access. Such access is personal, nontransferable, has no cash value, is not a purchase, and may be limited or revoked according to the stated grant terms. Revocation does not affect a separately verified paid subscription.
9 Privacy and account deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices. Read the Privacy Policy
Deleting local audit data is different from deleting your account. Account deletion may remove server-held account data but cannot erase information another provider must retain or records NME may lawfully retain for transactions, security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or legal obligations.
10 Financial and professional advice disclaimer
FINANCIAL DISCLAIMER: NME MONEY AUDIT IS AN INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL TOOL ONLY. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, LEGAL, TAX, INSURANCE, CREDIT, OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. CALCULATIONS, FLAGS, ESTIMATES, CHECKLISTS, AND SUGGESTED ACTIONS DEPEND ON THE INFORMATION YOU ENTER AND MAY BE INCOMPLETE OR INACCURATE. THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEES OF SAVINGS OR RESULTS. BEFORE CANCELING, REPLACING, OR CHANGING ANY ACCOUNT, SERVICE, COVERAGE, DEBT, OR CONTRACT, VERIFY ALL PRICES, FEES, PENALTIES, TERMS, COVERAGE, ELIGIBILITY, TAX CONSEQUENCES, AND EFFECTIVE DATES DIRECTLY WITH THE RELEVANT PROVIDER OR A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL. NEVER CANCEL ESSENTIAL COVERAGE OR SERVICE UNTIL A REPLACEMENT IS ACTIVE AND VERIFIED. YOU REMAIN RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DECISIONS AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NORTON MEDIA ENTERPRISE, LLC DISCLAIMS LIABILITY AS PROVIDED IN THESE TERMS.
NME is not a fiduciary, financial planner, investment adviser, accountant, attorney, tax professional, insurance producer, credit counselor, lender, or representative of a provider merely because it offers the Service. No NME content creates a professional-client, fiduciary, agency, or advisory relationship.
11 Third party services and links
The Service may reference or link to third-party providers, products, websites, or services. NME does not control their availability, prices, contracts, fees, security, privacy, or performance. A link or comparison is not a guarantee or professional endorsement. If NME may receive affiliate or referral compensation, we will provide an appropriate disclosure. You must evaluate third-party terms before acting.
12 Ownership and feedback
The Service, branding, interface, software, text, calculations, arrangement, protected guides, and other NME materials are owned by NME or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership. If you voluntarily provide feedback, you grant NME a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback without identifying you or owing compensation, subject to the Privacy Policy.
13 Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address nonpayment, fraud, abuse, security risk, unlawful conduct, material breach of these Terms, platform requirements, or discontinuation of the Service. When practical and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination remain effective, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute provisions, and payment obligations already incurred.
14 Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." NME DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NME DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR FINANCIAL DECISION, OR THAT ESTIMATES OR SUGGESTIONS WILL PRODUCE SAVINGS OR OTHER RESULTS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS, SO SOME OF THESE TERMS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15 Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NME AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, PROVIDER FEES, CANCELLATION PENALTIES, COVERAGE GAPS, OR DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NME'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO NME FOR MONEY AUDIT DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.
16 Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NME and its owners, officers, employees, and contractors from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from NME's own unlawful conduct.
17 Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Before filing a claim, you and NME agree to make a good-faith effort for at least 30 days to resolve the dispute after written notice to the other party. Subject to any nonwaivable right, court proceedings must be brought in a state court located in Horry County, South Carolina, or the federal court with jurisdiction over that county.
18 Changes notices and miscellaneous terms
We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be presented with reasonable notice and, when required, renewed acceptance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only where legally sufficient. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective and the affected provision will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; NME may assign them as part of a business transaction or reorganization. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the checkout disclosures, and any applicable platform terms form the agreement concerning the Service.
