FAQ
Nashville’s hotel scene splits by neighborhood as much as by brand. Downtown, Broadway, and SoBro carry the city’s biggest concentration of hotels — from the Forbes Five-Star Hermitage Hotel to the trendy Moxy on Honky Tonk Row — and put you steps from the entertainment district. Music Row, Midtown, and the Gulch lean boutique and lifestyle. Music Valley, out by the Grand Ole Opry, is anchored by the massive Gaylord Opryland Resort. East Nashville skips the chains entirely in favor of independent, design-forward stays, while Green Hills/Vanderbilt and the Franklin/Cool Springs suburb serve business travelers and those wanting a quieter home base. We checked each property directly against its own site rather than a generic aggregator list.

Booking Tips for This Area
- Downtown fills up fast around events. Nashville hosts conventions, bachelorette weekends, and concerts nearly every weekend — book Broadway-adjacent hotels well ahead, especially in summer and around CMA Fest.
- Staying at Opryland means staying out of downtown. The Gaylord Opryland Resort is a full destination unto itself with its own dining and shopping, but it’s a 15-20 minute drive from Broadway — factor that into your plans.
- East Nashville has no major chain hotels yet. If you want a boutique, independent stay across the river from downtown, this is the neighborhood — but inventory is limited compared to downtown.
- Rates and policies change without notice. Every detail above was pulled from the property’s own site, but call ahead to confirm before you book, especially for peak weekends.
Where should I stay to walk to Broadway’s honky-tonks?
Downtown, Broadway, or SoBro — this area has Nashville’s largest hotel concentration and puts you within walking distance of the entertainment district.
Is the Gaylord Opryland Resort close to downtown Nashville?
Not within walking distance — it’s about 15-20 minutes by car or rideshare from Broadway, out near the Grand Ole Opry in the Music Valley area.
Where can I find boutique, independent hotels in Nashville?
East Nashville has several design-forward independent properties with no major chains, and Music Row/The Gulch has a strong boutique/lifestyle-brand cluster closer to downtown.
How does NME choose which hotels to feature?
We verify each property directly against its own official site rather than relying on aggregator lists, and we exclude anything we can’t confirm firsthand. Read more on our methodology page.
