FAQ
Destin and 30A split cleanly into two kinds of days: harbor days (fishing charters, Crab Island, HarborWalk Village) and beach-town days (state parks, the 30A bike trail, gallery walks in Grayton Beach and Rosemary Beach). We checked each business or park directly against its own site or a reliable local source rather than a generic aggregator list.

Good to Know Before You Go
- Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is not in Destin. It’s a real, currently-operating attraction, but it’s physically located in Fort Walton Beach โ just outside this guide’s coverage area.
- Crab Island has no dock of its own. You get there by boat, jet ski, or a rental from one of the operators above โ there’s no walk-up access.
- Silver Sands Premium Outlets is technically in Miramar Beach, not Destin, despite the marketing name โ still an easy stop if you’re staying anywhere along the corridor.
- The Timpoochee Trail connects most of 30A on foot or bike โ a good way to hit Seaside, WaterColor, and Grayton Beach without moving your car.
How do I get to Crab Island?
By boat only โ rent a pontoon or jet ski from one of the Destin Harbor operators in our Crab Island & Water Sports section, or book a captained trip.
Is the Gulfarium in Destin?
No โ it’s a real park, but it’s located in Fort Walton Beach, outside this guide’s Destin/30A coverage area.
What’s the best way to see all the 30A beach towns?
The Timpoochee Trail is a paved multi-use path running the length of 30A โ walkable or bikeable between Grayton Beach, Seaside, and WaterColor.
Is deep-sea fishing worth it in Destin?
Destin bills itself as “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” for a reason โ the HarborWalk Village charter fleet runs both half-day and full-day deep-sea trips year-round.
How does NME choose which attractions to feature?
We verify each attraction against its own official site or a reliable local tourism source rather than relying on a single aggregator list, and we exclude anything we couldn’t confirm or that’s actually located outside the Destin/30A area. Read more on our methodology page.
